Dear Parents, We're preparing for another fun and exciting summer at Birch Aquarium at Scripps! We take pride in offering high-quality educational programs for children of all ages and we hope that your kids will join us for lots of excitement, exploration, and ocean adventures. Our experienced instructors will help to create wonderful memories of ocean science learning. We have many new experiences planned and are anticipating the best year ever!
You will be pleased to know we offer a wide variety of programs from one day to week long and half day to full day. Some programs are held at the aquarium where your children will get up close to many animals while others meet at local beaches where days of snorkeling among lobsters and friendly sharks are enjoyed. Throughout our ten weeks of summer camp you will be sure to find many great programs for your children ages 4-15. In addition, our camps are accredited by the American Camp Association. This nationally recognized accreditation ensures that our programs meet quality standards and that we committed ourselves to providing a safe and nurturing environment for our campers.
Our brochure and registration will be available in March 2009. Remember camps fill quickly. To ensure your first choice of camps become a member to get priority registration.

Why Is American Camp Association (ACA) Accreditation Important?
ACA accreditation means that Birch Aquarium at Scripps underwent a
thorough review of its operation by the American Camp Association for
compliance with up to 300 health, safety, and program quality standards
from staff qualifications and training to emergency management. ACA
collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the
American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to assure that
current practices at our accredited camp reflect the most up-to-date,
research-based standards in camp operation.
